Two people died in Maastricht Stabbing Attack

One reporter, Johann de Graaf, current affairs editor of Dutch current affairs show EenVandaag, reports two people are dead. A police spokesperson initially confirmed one person had died and a second had been injured in a location nearby. Limburg police confirmed shortly after the incident that two people had been killed and that they were investigating. The police said in a statement there were two stabbing incidents with a few hundred metres of each other in a residential neighbourhood in northern Maastricht, which borders Germany and Belgium. De Limurger reported residents being startled by loud screams and one told the paper: 'It went through marrow and bone.' Detectives are now working to establish the reason for the double stabbing attack. A cordon was immediately put in place and it is not known whether or not the knifeman was in police custody or still on the loose.
